What is the Road Transport Inspection?

The Road Transport Inspection is an organizational unit of the State, which started operations on 1 July 2025 as the successor of the Road Transport Service Centre. Its main objective is to improve safety on Czech roads and motorways through more consistent and independent inspections of freight transport. INSID will have the power to stop vehicles, carry out technical inspections, check drivers’ compliance with breaks and detect manipulation of tachographs. There will be mobile expert units equipped with modern technology, including equipment for remote reading of tachograph data, and a mobile STK. Inspectors will be clearly marked and able to carry out inspections without assistance from the police or customs.
