The Code of Conduct of the Road Transport Inspection

The civil servants and other employees of the Road Transport Inspection, conscious of their mission grounded in service to the public and based on honour and respect towards the fundamental rights, hereby declare the following principles, which are to be observed and shared by all.

Goal of the Road Transport Inspection

A primary objective of the Road Transport Inspection is to enhance safety on roads and motorways. Furthermore, by preventing damage caused by overloaded lorries, the Inspection preserves the integrity of the road network, mitigates congestion resulting from frequent road repairs, and prevents the waste of public funds.

A key advantage of the Inspection’s transformation is the increased efficiency of roadside checks, resulting from the Inspection’s independence from the Police and the Customs Administration. This allows police and customs officers to reallocate their operational resources to other core duties. The work carried out by the Inspection aims to prevent unfair business practices in freight transport. Ultimately, having a preventive effect on drivers and hauliers should be the primary outcome of the Inspection’s activities.
